A More Meaningful Life...

A very dear client and friend said to me this morning 'I'm not sure if this is the right time to launch? With what's going on in the world right now, shouldn't I wait until things calm down?' I understood entirely where her worry was coming from, we're surrounded in such uncertain times, and uncertainty that's unfortunately here to stay for some time yet.

Despite this, I told her 'No. You have to do this now.'

If there's one thing (of many) that Covid-19, lockdowns and the year 2020 has taught me, it's about just how short and fragile our lives are. How much we all took for granted before all of this. Simple pleasures like hugging your mum, or meeting a friend for a cuppa feel like things of distant past. I can't begin to count how many times over my 27 years on this planet, that I've put something off until 'tomorrow'. Or thought to myself, some day I'd really like to do that...and never have.

Whether we realise it or not, our behaviours towards almost every aspect of our lives – our relationships and family, our work, our buying habits, our hopes and dreams (to name a few) – will have changed dramatically over what has been such a relatively short period of time. People are beginning to refocus on what's important to them, many of us are choosing to support small local businesses, whether for locally grown groceries or carefully thought out gifts. People are beginning to make more impactful and compassionate choices already, and it's only just the beginning.

We have to take something meaningful from the pain and suffering this past year has presented. We each owe it to ourselves to realise that tomorrow is never a guarantee, ever, and to stop waiting around for 'the right moment' to come along. The right moment is now.

So from here on out, I urge you to join me in embarking in a more meaningful life...starting today.

Starting now.
