My design career began through a passion of magazines, and began during my 5th year of high school when we were given an assignment to design a magazine of any topic. My love of drawing mythical creatures at the time, lead me to produce a magazine for fantasy artists, inspiringly(?) named 'enVision'. I was so proud of that magazine, which hung on the corridor walls of the school for quite a few years, even after I'd left the school.
Looking back on it now, it was a complete typographical disaster. But damn I was proud.
*Current clients, please don't judge. I've come a long way since then...
I still feel a sense of pride when I look back on this piece of work, and can pinpoint the exact moment where I'd decided what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. At first I felt I'd be committing a big career no-no by sharing this with you, but I actually think it's so important to keep looking back and reflect on how far my work (and also Adobe Creative Suite Ads) have come.
Everyone loves a before and after right?
It's now been over 10 years since I left school, however I'll be forever grateful to Mr Linton, my Graph Comm teacher throughout highschool, for his constant belief, wisdom, knowledge and encouragement, to get me to where I am today.
